Our Bernese Mountain Dogs

Welcome to our Bernese Mountain Dog page. We live in a smallholding at the top of a hill next to the forest, in bonny Scotland, with our two Bernese, Molly and Maggie, four goats, two cats, and the horse Danny. (See other web pages to see the rest of the menagere! :o)

I have wanted a Bernese for as long as I can remember. I used to show Alaskan Malamutes for a friend of mine, about fifteen years ago. The Bernese were nearly always being shown in the next ring, and I have longed to own one since then. Due to working and lifestyle in the past, I was unable to give them the time and attention that Bernese require. Now I have changed my lifestyle, to being skint and happy, so was able to get our girls. :o)

After a long search for a reputable breeder, even reaserched Canadian ones when I lived over there, ended up finding someone who was quite close by, which I think is a good bonus. As much as I had experience with dogs in the past, I didn't know a lot about this beautiful breed. So a friendly helpful breeder at hand is good to have.

We got Molly in the April of 2000, and fell in love with her after about five seconds. She was (is) so beautiful, that I just had to have another to keep her company. The breeder then decided to repeat the breeding. So that was me, booked the second puppy :o) Picked up Maggie in the June of 2001. They are great friends for each other, and like regular sisters are like black and white. Molly is very intelligent, too intelligent sometimes, and sweet Maggie-May isn't quite as smart but both are loved just the same.
